AC Milan vs FC Barcelona

Match Report

A.C Milan  2 - 0  FC Barcelona

AC Milan 2 - 0 FC Barcelona
The atmosphere in Milan was vibrant on Wednesday night as thousands of spectators packed into the San Siro to watch AC Milan against FC Barcelona.  The match kicked off and as usual, Barça was in possesion of the ball.  Barcelona were trying to create something with Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas and Busquets stringing up passes in the midfield, but was difficult as Milan kept a compact and organized defense.  The first half ended, 0-0.  The second half started the same as the first with Barça in the driving seat, but in the 57th minute, Kevin-Prince Boateng set the San Siro wild as he pounced on a lose ball just inside the area, putting it into the bottom right corner of Victor Valdes's net making it, AC Milan 1, FC Barcelona 0.  Barça continued to control the game as that one away goal would be important for the second leg in the Nou Camp, but failed to capitalize as chances came from Iniesta and Xavi.  With nine minutes left in the match, Milan scored their second goal as El Shaarawy made an exquisite lob pass to teammate Muntari who volleyed the ball into the back of the net to secure a historic champions league win for Milan.  It will be difficult for Barça to go through as they are going to have to win with at least a three goal lead in the return leg in the Nou Camp, but the team is confident with Xavi saying "I think we will see a different match in the Nou Camp."  The second leg between these two European giants will take place the 12th of March, 2013.
