FC Barcelona had most of the possesion but Real Madrid defended well with Varane standing out the most.  Xavi had to chances.  One of them being cleared off the line by Varane and the other one hit the crossbar off a free-kick.  Real Madrid had a few good chances with Benzema coming close.

What a great game with end to end action. Barcelona with their Tiki Taka and Madrid with fast counter attacks.  In the end, Real Madrid CF 1 and FC Barcelona 1 with goals coming from Cesc Fabregas and Varane.

it very hard for Barcelona to find gaps to put 
through players.  Raphael also scored the goal 
to make it 1-1 with a great header coming from

This Wednesday, the 30th of January, 2013, the most watched match in the world and one of the most heated rivalries in football will take place.  Real Madrid CF against FC Barcelona.  In other words, "El Clasico."

As La Liga is out of reach for Real Madrid CF, they will be putting all their attention on this Copa Del Rey semi-final.

"Los Blancos" will have to put out a strong squad to face an inform

Barça.  Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Özil will be Real Madrid's key players against Barcelona.  They both displayed world class performances in Real Madrid's last La Liga match against Getafe in the Bernabeu.  Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick and Özil provided the assist to Ronaldo's first goal timing the pass to perfection.

FC Barcelona have got La Liga practically in their hands and will be competitive in this Copa Del Rey semi-final as they would like to win the double, Cup and League.  Barça's key man, no doubt, will be Lionel Messi who scored 4 goals in Barça's victory over Osasuna in the Nou Camp the other night and providing the passes to Messi will be Xavi.

Thibaut Courtois was born in Bree, Belgium on the 11th of May, in 1992.  He began to play football as a left-back with Bilzen V.V at the age of five years old.  Two years later in 1999, he joined the youth ranks of Belgian professional football club K.R.C Genk where his position changed from left-back to goalkeeper.  Nine years later, at the age of only sixteen years old, he made his first team debut.  Two years later, he helped Genk become champions of the Belgian League.  In 2011, Chelsea FC signed the Belgian goalkeeper.  He is currently on loan with La Liga side, Athletico Madrid who are second in La Liga behind FC Barcelona.  Courtois has made many great impressions with Athletico Madrid and has been called one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.  He has got great agility, reflexes, and has got great aerial presence thanks to his incredible height of 199cm.  Just under 2 metres!  At the age of 20 years old, Courtois has won the Belgian League, the Europa League, and the European Super Cup.  Rumours say that as Victor Valdes's contract ends, FC Barcelona will be looking to make an offer for the young Belgian goalkeeper.  The young Belgian has got a great future. 

Where will he end up?  

Will he fill Petr Cech's boots or will he be heading to the Nou Camp?

Isco is known for his great technical ability and his explosive speed.  He developed in the youth ranks of Valencia and now at the age of 20 years old is playing in Malaga's first team.

His contract ends in 2016, and could be heading to the Premier League with interests coming from Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.  There are also interests coming from Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

Muniain is a great footballer with speed, skill, and technical brilliance.  He developed in Athletic Bilbao's academy and made his first team debut at the age of only 17 years old.

His contract ends in 2015, and could be heading to one of these Premier League sides, Manchester City or Liverpool.  Rumours say that Liverpool want to sign Muniain this summer.  There are also interests coming from, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Real Madrid.

Deulofeu developed in FC Barcelona's famous youth academy, La Masia.  He is known for his incredible speed.  At the age of only 18 years old, Deulofeu has made one first team debut and is a regular in FC Barcelona's B team.

His contract ends in 2016, and could be heading to anyone of these world class clubs, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, or Liverpool.
